Thank you to all the supporters of Proposition 5, the Nonviolent Offender Rehabilitation Act!

Our efforts over the last several months – to expand drug treatment and reform California’s prisons – have not been in vain. Although Prop. 5 failed to capture a majority of votes on Election Day, the problems of prison overcrowding and budget deficits persist in California.

In the last few months we brought significant public attention to California’s prison overcrowding crisis, and exposed the special interests that benefit from the status quo. We proposed real, proven solutions and we can and should be proud of that effort.
